Set Lunch @ BEAST by BIG, The Intermark, KL

BEAST is the The BIG Group's bar/grill restaurant located in The Intermark. It has replaced Estate and starting from early this week, they are open for lunch prompting Hubby to suggest a daytime date there. 

Part of the interior remains the same (ie the bar area), though the large British backdrop is now gone and replaced by "wood effect" wallpaper. The interior is a tad more elegant now with a romantic ambiance (dim lighting).

BEAST is open for lunch from Mondays to Fridays only and offers a 2-course set lunch for RM35++ or 3-course for RM50++. The menu can be viewed on their website here. We both opted for the 2-course lunch and it would be decided later if we still had room for desserts.

For starters, I selected the Foie pate toasties while Hubby went for the Salmon tartare the Korean way. We both agreed that my starter was really good - love the textural combination of the smooth foie pate with the crispy toasties plus we liked the fact that the pate was a generous (just nice!) portion. So convenient to pick up and pop into the mouth too! Hubby's salmon tartare had some interesting flavours too, paired with some kimchi and pickles.

For mains, I ordered the minute steak served with a garden green salad. I have been craving steak and the minute steak definitely did the job of satiating my craving.  Though a thin cut, I was happy with the doneness and it was pretty tender. The salad consisted of rocket and juicy tomatoes, though would have preferred the dressing to be less tart.

Hubby went for the classic cheeseburger, served with togarashi fries. As always the burgers are good - nice, soft buns with juicy patties and nicely done fries.

Service is prompt, so we finished lunch in less than an hour. We'd certainly love to return for their steaks one evening. :)

After lunch, we visited Jaya Grocer's on the LC floor. A great place for grocery shopping! Coincidentally they were doing a wine tasting (Rymill, Coonawarra) here so Hubby got to taste a few good wines. By the way, with every RM30 spend here, you get first 2 hours parking free.

Verdict: Good value for money set lunches.
